Senior Cloud Operation Engineer

At Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), we build the future of the cloud for Enterprises as a diverse team of creators and inventors. The Compute organization is responsible for providing critical VM and BM compute power infrastructure services. This role involves working with the product team on shared full stack ownership of cloud services, understanding end-to-end configuration, and technical dependencies of production services.

As a Senior Cloud Operation Engineer, you'll be responsible for mitigating critical customer incidents, managing deployments, and improving security, performance, availability, and scalability of services. You'll partner with development teams to meet SLAs and unblock customers, while acting as an escalation point for complex issues.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Managing and optimizing production server hardware and software
• Providing escalated technical support for complex issues
• Coordinating with internal teams and third-party vendors
• Maintaining high availability in a cloud environment
• Participating in on-call support rotation
• Implementing and maintaining robust monitoring solutions
• Leading incident response and root cause analysis

The ideal candidate will bring strong Linux administration skills, experience with virtualization technologies, and expertise in cloud computing. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and various monitoring/instrumentation tools while helping shape the future of Oracle's cloud infrastructure.
