Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Service Operations Engineer to join their team in multiple locations (Reston, VA; Austin, TX; and Seattle, WA). This role is part of a 24x7 environment with a 4x10 schedule including rotating weekends, with day, mid, and night shifts available.
The position involves operating production environments, including systems and databases that support critical business operations. You'll be responsible for administration and analysis across multiple production environments, recommending innovative solutions to enhance availability, performance, and supportability. This role combines deep technical knowledge with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure expertise to provide escalation support for complex production environment challenges related to growth, scaling, cloud leveraging, and high-performance requirements.
Key responsibilities include installing, monitoring, and optimizing production server hardware/software, providing escalated technical support, and coordinating with internal teams and vendors for problem resolution. You'll work with Oracle's technology stack while maintaining system uptime in a cloud environment.
The ideal candidate should have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, strong technical infrastructure support background, and experience with distributed applications and operating systems. Knowledge of enterprise platforms, network architecture, and administrative scripting is essential. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance (Polygraph preferred) and willingness to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 NOC environment.
