Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Service Operations Engineer to join their team in multiple locations (Reston, VA; Austin, TX; and Seattle, WA). This role is critical in operating production environments, including systems and databases that support vital business operations. Working in a 24x7 environment on a 4x10 schedule including rotating weekends, you'll be responsible for performing administration and analysis while recommending innovative solutions to improve availability, performance, and supportability.
The position combines deep technical knowledge with administration/analysis expertise of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure to provide escalation support for complex production environment challenges. These challenges relate to massive growth, scaling, cloud leveraging, high performance, and high availability requirements.
As a Service Operations Engineer, you'll be part of a team that blends system admin, incident command, and NOC engineering disciplines. Your responsibilities will include installing, monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing production server hardware and software. You'll lead problem management cases, coordinate with internal technical resources and third-party vendors, and ensure consistent system uptime in a cloud environment.
The role requires a TS/SCI clearance (with polygraph preferred) and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. You'll need strong Linux knowledge, experience with incident bridges, and a customer-focused mindset.
