Description For Service Operations Engineer (JoinOCI-Ns2)

Oracle is seeking a Service Operations Engineer to join their Cloud Infrastructure team in multiple locations including Seattle, Reston, and Austin. This role operates in a 24x7 environment with a 4x10 schedule including rotating weekends across day, mid, and night shifts. The position is critical for maintaining and operating production environments that support essential business operations.

The role combines deep technical knowledge with administration/analysis expertise of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure to provide escalation support for complex production environment challenges. These challenges include managing immense growth, scaling, cloud leveraging, and maintaining high performance and availability requirements.

Key responsibilities include system administration, problem management, and coordination with internal technical resources and third-party vendors. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance and involves working in a NOC environment. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux experience, incident management skills, and a passion for customer service.

Responsibilities For Service Operations Engineer (JoinOCI-Ns2)

  • Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize production server hardware and software
  • Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues
  • Coordinate escalated support cases and lead problem resolution
  • Assist with server operating system and application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching
  • Work on standardization projects for hardware and software under Oracle technology stack
  • Provide on-call support on a rotating basis
  • Operation of production environments including systems and databases

Requirements For Service Operations Engineer (JoinOCI-Ns2)

Linux
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required, active Polygraph preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience participating in or running incident bridges
  • Customer obsession, passion for delighting customers
  • Willingness to work in 24/7 NOC; 4X10 schedule including weekends
  • Demonstrable ability to quickly learn new technical domains
