Site Reliability Developer (JoinOCI-Ns2)

Oracle is seeking a Site Reliability Developer to join their Cloud Infrastructure team. This role involves solving complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services and building automation to prevent problem recurrence. The position is located in multiple locations including Reston, VA, Austin, TX, and Seattle, WA, operating in a 24x7 environment with various shift options available.

The role combines both operational and development responsibilities, with SREs spending significant time maintaining services, troubleshooting production issues, and being on-call. When not handling operations, the focus is on software engineering tasks such as designing and developing systems to enhance reliability, scalability, and reduce operational overhead through automation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with feature teams to onboard new services into cloud environments
• Building systems for automation, provisioning/deployment, security, scaling, and resiliency
• Managing and triaging tickets with impact-based prioritization
• Driving new runbooks development and automation
• Maintaining services and troubleshooting production issues
• Collaborating in an agile environment focused on simplicity and security

Requirements include:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years experience managing large-scale distributed services
• Strong programming skills in Python, Bash, Ruby, or Java
• Deep knowledge of Linux internals and networking
• Experience with configuration management and monitoring solutions
• Security clearance requirement: Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain/maintain Polygraph
