Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a senior engineering leader to join their Technical Strategy and Oversight (TSO) organization in Nashville, TN. This role will build and lead the new OCI Performance team from the ground up, focusing on improving performance across existing services and defining KPIs for internal service teams.
The position involves working on ambitious initiatives including building high-performance primitives, frameworks to support OCI developers, and a new container runtime. The team is developing solutions such as canonical implementation of core components for data planes, remote persistent storage solutions with local NVMe-comparable performance, and tools to identify critical performance improvements across OCI data-planes.
As the Software Development Director, you'll be responsible for building and operating high-scale cloud infrastructure services, managing distributed multinational teams, and owning the design, delivery, and operations of prominent public cloud services. The role requires strong technical expertise in highly available and scalable systems, combined with the ability to balance feature delivery with incremental improvements.
