Description For Technical Operations Engineer

Oracle is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to join their team in Japan. This role is responsible for managing and optimizing production environments, including systems and databases that support critical business operations. The position combines deep technical knowledge with administration/analysis expertise in Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure to provide escalation support for complex production environment challenges.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of experience and will focus on improving availability, performance, and supportability of systems. This role requires native-level Japanese language skills and strong expertise in Linux System Administration, along with experience in cloud operations and incident management.

Responsibilities For Technical Operations Engineer

  • Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all production server hardware and software
  • Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues
  • Lead problem management cases and provide management status
  • Coordinate escalated support cases and lead technical resources
  • Assist with server operating system and application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching
  • Work on standardization projects for hardware and software
  • Provide on-call support on a rotating basis

Requirements For Technical Operations Engineer

Linux

  • Japanese Language Skill: Native level
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Linux System Administration, Networking, Storage, Compute, and Virtualization
  • Experience participating in or running incident bridges
  • Customer focus, passion for delighting customers
  • Experience in cloud technical support, operations, NOC or similar is preferred
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly learn new technical disciplines and train others
