Description For Backend Engineer

PayPay Card Corporation, established in 2021, is revolutionizing the credit card industry in Japan by integrating with the PayPay payment platform that serves over 66 million users. As a Backend Engineer, you'll be part of building and rebuilding scalable, maintainable services that power the next generation of payment solutions. The role focuses on two key areas: enhancing the credit card experience through new functionalities and re-architecting systems for optimal performance.

The position requires expertise in Java/Spring Boot development, with systems running on AWS infrastructure. You'll work with modern technologies including microservices, event-driven architectures, and various databases. The tech stack includes Spring Boot (Java 11/17), AWS services (ECS, CloudFormation, CloudWatch), and modern development tools.

The ideal candidate brings strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed computing, along with experience in high-traffic systems. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams in a multicultural environment, participating in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and system design discussions.

This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced FinTech company that's transforming payment services in Japan while working with cutting-edge technologies and solving complex engineering challenges.
