Description For Senior Android Engineer

Pelago is revolutionizing substance use management as the world's leading virtual clinic. Our program delivers personalized support and treatment for individuals struggling with tobacco, alcohol, and opioid use. We combine cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to provide comprehensive care that integrates seamlessly with health plans and wellness platforms.

As a Senior Android Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing our members' experience through our Android app. We're looking for someone with deep expertise in Kotlin and Android development who can take ownership of projects and drive improvements. You'll work in an agile environment, collaborating with product managers and designers to create innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities include building and maintaining the Pelago Android app, leading feature development, reviewing designs and wireframes, and serving as the Android knowledge expert across the organization. You'll also focus on implementing engineering best practices, including automated testing and continuous integration/deployment.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of Android development experience, strong knowledge of Kotlin, and expertise with modern Android tools like Retrofit, Hilt, and Jetpack Compose. You should understand MVVM and clean architecture patterns, have experience with REST APIs, and demonstrate a commitment to quality through testing and CI/CD practices.

We've already helped over 750,000 members manage their substance use better and have secured Series C funding of $151M. Join us in making a meaningful impact on people's lives through technology and healthcare innovation. Our mission extends beyond just helping people quit smoking – we're building a comprehensive platform for addiction management and healthier living.
