Qualcomm, a leading global semiconductor company, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Applications Engineer for their Automotive Application Engineering Group in Ingolstadt, Germany. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge infotainment and digital cockpit technologies for leading auto manufacturers and Tier1s.

The position involves close collaboration with automotive partners and customers throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept to commercialization. You'll be working with all aspects of embedded software, including hardware and software designs, feature prototyping, integration, customization, and performance optimization. The role requires expertise in multimedia development across various operating systems like Linux, Android, Greenhills Integrity, and QNX.

As a key member of the team, you'll provide direct support to Qualcomm's customers and partners, helping them design, develop, and debug reference designs. You'll be responsible for customizing and optimizing software to meet specific product requirements using Qualcomm SOC features. The role demands strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with the capability to quickly understand complex automotive platform architectures.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of embedded software development experience, strong C/C++ programming skills, and expertise in multimedia development across audio, display, graphics, and camera domains. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including OpenGL ES, Vulcan, OpenCL, various video and audio codecs, and automotive-specific interfaces and protocols.

Requirements For Automotive -Embedded Software Applications Engineer (m/f/d) – Multimedia

Linux
  • 6+ years of Embedded software development/debugging experience
  • 1+ years of customer-facing experience
  • Experience with embedded Multimedia development in Audio, Display, Graphics, Camera domains
  • C/C++ programming expertise
  • Experience with Linux and/or Android or Real-time Operating systems
  • Excellent issue triage and Debugging skills
  • Good Communication and Team working skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Electronics or related field
  • Experience with embedded software development, integration, debugging
