Description For CPU Performance Modeling Engineer

Qualcomm, a leading technology innovator, is seeking a CPU Performance Modeling Engineer to join their CPU Architecture team. As a CPU Performance Modeling Architect, you'll be working with advanced CPU performance features, conducting detailed explorations, modeling solutions, and collaborating with the design team to bring innovations to production. The role requires deep expertise in CPU architecture components including fetch, decode, branch prediction, renaming, execute units, SIMD, load/store, MMU, caches, and retire mechanisms.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $99,400 to $183,500, complemented by annual bonuses and RSU grants. Responsibilities For CPU Performance Modeling Engineer

  • Analyze workloads to identify performance bottlenecks and opportunities
  • Write and maintain features and sections of the CPU architectural performance model
  • Work with RTL and design team to assess implementation cost for new features
  • Collaborate with performance team to maintain and improve the simulation environment
  • Perform self-guided performance simulation studies of design alternatives

Requirements For CPU Performance Modeling Engineer

  • MS degree in Computer Architecture with 2+ years of practical experience
  • Strong CPU architecture knowledge and micro-architecture knowledge
  • Experience working in a performance modeling environment
  • Proficient in C and C++ and scripting languages such as Perl or Python
  • Knowledge and experience with common performance benchmarks and workloads
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience
