Qualcomm's Mixed-Signal IP (MSIP) Physical Design team in Cork, Ireland is seeking a Staff-level Mixed-Signal Physical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This role is crucial in leading and implementing Analog Mixed-Signal Physical Design projects in cutting-edge 3nm technologies and below. The position is part of the team working on next-generation mixed-signal physical designs for SerDes, Sensors & DDR IP teams, contributing to Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon SoCs.

The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering work, requiring expertise in ASIC design for large multi-million gate SoCs. The successful candidate will work with state-of-the-art technology, implementing complex physical designs while optimizing for performance, power, and area. The position involves collaboration with global teams and requires strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities For Mixed-Signal Physical Design Engineer, Staff - Cork, Ireland

  • Lead and work hands-on on Analog Mixed-Signal Physical Design projects in 3nm technologies
  • Implement physical design including placement, CTS, and STA
  • Work on complex PHYs and related Sub Systems
  • Perform power grid analysis and optimize power, performance and area trade-offs
  • Implement clock tree structures and multi-source CTS
  • Handle physical verification including DRC/LVS and other checks
  • Lead physical design projects with resources across global sites

Requirements For Mixed-Signal Physical Design Engineer, Staff - Cork, Ireland

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 7-8 years of experience in physical design
  • Physical design implementation experience in advanced technologies
  • Experience with custom physical design, pre-placement and pre-routing
  • STA tool and timing closure methodologies knowledge
  • Programming and scripting skills (Tcl, perl and/or C)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with diverse global teams
  • Self-driven and Motivated
