Snapdragon Ride is an integral pillar of our Snapdragon Digital Chassis, aiming to address the complexity of autonomous driving and ADAS by leveraging high-performance, power-efficient SoC, industry-leading artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, and pioneering vision and drive policy stack.
We are looking for a lead engineer to help drive autonomous vehicle guidance, bridging disciplines of prediction, planning, and control to enable robust and capable closed loop operation. This is a leadership role, where the ideal candidate has a breadth of experience leading multiple, interdisciplinary teams across algorithm development and system design, software architecture and mapping to embedded ADAS hardware.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership and working with other senior leads to effectively operate the Automotive Vehicle Guidance department
- Researching and developing novel algorithms for planning and decision making under uncertainty, robust control, and complex driving scenarios
- Designing driving policies for complex maneuvers in urban environments
- Implementing ideas in software (Python and C++) and collaborating with software engineers on development
- Working closely with test engineers to develop test plans for simulations and real-world testing
- Networking with cross-functional teams and staying updated on ADAS industry trends
The ideal candidate should have:
- Ph.D. with 5+ years industry experience in behavior prediction, planning, vehicle controls, and modern AI techniques
- Experience in autonomous driving or applied robotics domains
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++
- Experience with robust software design for safety-critical systems
- Experience leading technical teams to deliver complete end-to-end solutions
- Knowledge of vehicle path planning techniques, including numerical optimization, graph search, and AI-based approaches
