Qualcomm's Voice and Music Business Unit is seeking a Staff Digital Design Engineer to join their team in either Cambridge or Bristol. This role is part of a leading player in wireless earbud, headset, and smart speaker market. The position involves working on end-to-end solutions for leading-edge low-power mixed-signal SOCs, from feasibility studies through to system architecture. The ideal candidate will work alongside System architects, Verification, Validation and Software teams, bringing expertise in digital design and architecture development. The role offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge technologies that power billions of Bluetooth and Voice and Music products worldwide. The position requires strong technical skills, collaborative abilities, and experience in low power digital IP design.
Responsibilities For Staff Digital Design Engineer
- Ownership of complete work package from specification through to delivery
- Design, integration and verification of RTL blocks including DSP, SoC and peripheral IP
- Planning and management of project work
- Definition of high-level specifications and micro-architecture for digital low power IPs
- Collaboration across global teams
- Running ASIC development tools
- Preparation of technical documentation
Requirements For Staff Digital Design Engineer
- 5 - 10 years industry experience with Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering
- Experience of complex digital block/sub-system architecture development
- Strong organizational, problem solving, communication skills
- RTL design in Verilog/System Verilog and expert digital design knowledge
- Scripting skills on Linux, TCL and Perl/Python
- Experience with EDA tools
- Knowledge of DSP design for Audio or wireless modem technologies
