Description For Lead Cloud Engineer

Rackspace, a leading multicloud solutions provider, is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer for an exciting greenfield project involving customer migration to a multicloud environment. This role presents a unique opportunity to serve as a technical expert in cloud Infrastructure Support, overseeing various aspects of network architecture, information security, IT system Administration, and DevOps processes.

The position requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in cloud technologies, particularly AWS and Azure, with additional knowledge of GCP. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of technical support experience and strong capabilities in both Windows and Linux administration. This role involves working directly with customer engineering teams, implementing DevOps best practices, and serving as a technical advisor for complex cloud solutions.

As a Lead Cloud Engineer, you'll be responsible for coordinating technical aspects of cloud infrastructure, implementing automation and DevOps practices, and ensuring optimal performance of cloud systems. Responsibilities For Lead Cloud Engineer

  • Oversee and coordinate technical aspects of cloud infrastructure and DevOps requirements
  • Identify and address product bugs, deficiencies, and performance bottlenecks
  • Work with customers engineering teams on various projects
  • Implement automation/DevOps best practices for CI/CD, IaC, Containerization
  • Perform Linux/Windows administration, automated deployments, scripting
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver projects and implement Cloud-based technical architectures
  • Serve as a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting

Requirements For Lead Cloud Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred
  • 7+ years of combined technical support experience
  • Expert level knowledge of AWS and Azure
  • Familiarity with GCP
  • Experience with cloud migrations from onprem to cloud
  • Administration experience with Windows and Linux Servers
  • Experience with cloud monitoring tools like service now
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD deployments, and Kubernetes
