Description For Propulsion Development Engineer I, Component Test

At Relativity Space, we are seeking a Propulsion Development Engineer I for Component Test to join our Engine Systems & Test team. This role involves working on simulation & software tools, system-level architecture, requirements, interfaces, component & integrated system hotfire testing, and more. You'll collaborate closely with component engineers, manufacturing team, Stennis test team, and Cape launch team to deliver engines for the Terran rocket.

As a Propulsion Development Engineer I, you will:

  • Serve as a Responsible Engineer for various propulsion test articles
  • Develop test plans and execute test campaigns with the Stennis team
  • Own exploratory operation of new and existing test article designs
  • Support engine subsystem troubleshooting and partner team product investigations
  • Potentially be involved in stage test and flight campaigns
  • Lead collaborative projects to completion with minimal oversight
  • Have the opportunity to influence a fast-growing startup company and make rapid professional gains

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, technology, or mathematics
  • 1+ years of relevant experience, preferably in complex engineering system development and/or test environment
  • Strong engineering fundamentals in fluid mechanics & thermodynamics
  • Familiarity with test operations environments
