Join Salesforce's Monitoring Cloud team as a Software Engineering SMTS, where you'll be at the forefront of building and operating critical observability services that run at massive scale in the public cloud. This role is part of the Salesforce Infrastructure team, focusing on providing essential insights for development teams to maintain high availability of Salesforce products. You'll work on a comprehensive telemetry stack that handles metrics, logs, traces, and events at scale.
As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you'll be responsible for architecting and implementing large-scale backend systems that collect, store, and enable efficient querying of telemetry data. The role combines deep technical expertise with the opportunity to drive engineering excellence in a fast-paced environment. You'll be working with cutting-edge technologies including Java, MongoDB, Kafka, and various cloud services, while ensuring 99.99% reliability in production.
The ideal candidate is a hybrid engineer who excels in both backend and UI development, capable of taking ownership of complex problems and delivering high-quality solutions independently. - Take ownership of complex problems and independently deliver high-quality features
- Proactively design, develop, and implement critical functionality
- Build scalable, maintainable solutions using engineering best practices
- Present team's work to peers, leadership, and broader engineering groups
- Write understandable, testable code with focus on maintainability
- Architect, implement, deliver and operate observability services in public cloud
Requirements For Software Engineering SMTS
- B.S/M.S. in Computer Sciences or equivalent field with 3+ years of software development experience
- Experience building highly scalable, available, and real-time data management services
- Deep understanding and experience building services on the public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc)
- Strong experience developing services/software in a Linux/UNIX environment using Java
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in building and managing services using IaaS constructs while ensuring 99.99% reliability in production
- UI experience required that demonstrates ability to design and develop intuitive interfaces
