Responsibilities For Systems Security Engineer

  • Design, develop and implement security controls aligned with NIST SP 800-53 standards for on-premise, hybrid and cloud infrastructure
  • Assess security risks and ensure compliance across servers, storage, networking, and application platforms
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to integrate security into system design and lifecycle management
  • Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and continuous monitoring of datacenter systems and applications
  • Provide security recommendations for hardware, virtualization, and access control solutions

Requirements For Systems Security Engineer

Linux
  • Current active DoD security clearance
  • 5+ years of experience in on-premise system security engineering or cybersecurity
  • Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and datacenter security best practices
  • Experience securing enterprise-grade servers, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and storage systems
  • Proficiency in risk assessment, access control, and incident response for on-prem environments
  • Ability to work 100% on-site at company or customer location
