Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack)

At Shef, we are building a homemade food marketplace that empowers local cooks to earn meaningful income while providing communities with authentic, home-cooked meals. Our platform connects talented cooks (including refugees, immigrants, stay-at-home parents, and restaurant chefs) with customers seeking wholesome, affordable food options.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in building delightful experiences for both consumers and chefs. You'll be responsible for optimizing the shopping experience and developing micro-entrepreneurship tools that help our shefs run successful businesses. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact an exciting consumer product while working directly with the company's engineering leadership.

We've raised over $100M from prominent investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, and Craft Ventures, along with backing from executives at companies like Instacart, TaskRabbit, and Airbnb. Our mission extends beyond technology - we're building a more inclusive food system and advocating for expanded home cooking laws nationwide.

The ideal candidate brings:

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience with React, TypeScript, and Node.js
• Strong product mindset and desire to own features end-to-end
• Experience working at companies from pre-seed through Series C stages
• Ability to balance technical tradeoffs between time, cost, and quality
• Self-motivated approach with excellent execution skills
