SimCare AI is revolutionizing healthcare training by creating AI patients for clinical training across education and industry. As a Founding Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of building AI-powered applications that enable healthcare professionals to practice and refine their skills through simulated patient interactions.
Our mission is to transform outdated healthcare training methods by providing an unlimited supply of diverse AI patients, each interaction meticulously analyzed for teaching moments. We're already making a significant impact, with our technology being used in over 30 institutions and having secured major contracts with companies like McGraw Hill.
You'll be working with cutting-edge technology stack including Next.js, Node, Supabase, and AWS to build complex LLM-based systems. Your responsibilities will include developing entire features from conception to production, working with agent orchestrations for both patient simulation and evaluation systems, and architecting both applications and agent workflows.
As an early team member, you'll have substantial influence over technical decisions and product direction. We maintain a collaborative culture where everyone's input matters, especially in major technical and strategic decisions. The role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, isn't afraid of occasional breakages, and is willing to engage directly with users for feedback and testing.
The ideal candidate should have at least 1+ years of full-stack development experience, be comfortable with our technical stack, and preferably have some founding or early-stage startup experience. You'll be based in New York City (with initial flexibility for the first 1-2 months) and will be instrumental in reshaping how we train our healthcare workforce.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a company that's actively causing a fundamental shift in healthcare training. We're not just building another product – we're reimagining how doctors, nurses, and clinicians learn and refine their skills, with real-world impact already evident in our institutional partnerships and major contracts.
