Description For Avionics Hardware Engineer

SpaceX is at the forefront of space exploration, working towards making humanity a multi-planetary species with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. As an Avionics Hardware Engineer on the Starshield team, you'll be working on critical technology that leverages SpaceX's Starlink capabilities for national security applications.

The role combines hardware engineering expertise with space technology, requiring deep technical knowledge in electrical systems, circuit design, and embedded systems. You'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of avionics hardware development - from initial concept through to orbital operations. This includes detailed design work, hardware testing, and cross-functional collaboration with various engineering teams.

The position offers unique challenges in developing space-grade hardware for government applications, with a focus on earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where innovation and problem-solving are essential, as you'll often face previously unsolved technical challenges.

The compensation package is competitive, starting from $100,000 to $150,000 based on experience level, with additional benefits including stock options, comprehensive healthcare, and retirement plans. For those with active security clearance, there's an additional 10% differential up to $15,000 annually.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about space technology and hardware engineering to work on cutting-edge projects that directly impact national security and space exploration. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, system-level thinking, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

The position is based in Hawthorne, CA, and requires U.S. person status due to ITAR regulations. You'll be joining a rapidly growing program with numerous opportunities for professional growth and direct impact on space technology advancement.
