Description For Design Criteria Engineer (Starship)

SpaceX is seeking a Design Criteria Engineer for their revolutionary Starship program at Starbase, TX. This unique position sits at the intersection of hardware design, systems engineering, and mission success, making it an exceptional opportunity for engineers passionate about space exploration.

The role involves working with SpaceX's agile system engineering team, where you'll be responsible for ensuring hardware and operations meet mission requirements. You'll be deeply integrated with hardware teams, driving improvements to vehicle design and providing critical peer review during design reviews. The position requires expertise in developing tools and methods for accurate design criteria dissemination, while ensuring cohesive evolution of designs across various technical teams including avionics, propulsion, structures, and manufacturing.

As a Design Criteria Engineer, you'll participate in rapid conceptual design, analysis, and testing cycles on development hardware, which may include CAD modeling and testing oversight. The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least one year of relevant experience. Preferred skills include experience with aerospace structure systems, fatigue testing, manufacturing processes, and various analysis tools including Siemens NX and FEMAP.
