As an Electrical Test and Reliability Engineer on the Starlink team, you'll work at the intersection of electrical, mechanical, thermal analysis, software, and antenna engineering. Your role will be crucial in ensuring satellite hardware can withstand the harsh space environment while maintaining communication with millions of users globally.

The position offers various focus areas including:

  • Gateways: Design and testing of ground station electronics
  • Hardware Test and Automation: Validation from concept to production
  • Failure Analysis: Root cause investigation and quality improvement
  • On-Orbit Reliability: Satellite health monitoring and anomaly investigation

You'll be responsible for developing automated test solutions, designing custom PCBAs, writing Python automation software, performing hands-on hardware testing, and driving continuous improvements through data analysis. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and involves challenging assumptions to find elegant solutions to complex problems.

SpaceX offers competitive compensation with base salary ranging from $100,000 to $135,000 depending on level, plus additional benefits including stock options, comprehensive healthcare, 401(k), paid parental leave, and 3 weeks vacation. Responsibilities For Electrical Test and Reliability Engineer (Starlink)

  • Design and develop automated test solutions for avionics and payload hardware
  • Select COTS hardware and/or design custom PCBAs for testing

Requirements For Electrical Test and Reliability Engineer (Starlink)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics or other STEM discipline
  • 1+ years of experience with hardware development or electronics test engineering
  • Strong understanding of computers and programming languages (Python, C/C++)
  • Experience analyzing circuits and developing functional test plans
  • Experience with test equipment and measurement techniques
  • Understanding of electronics reliability and failure mechanisms
