Description For Electrical Test Development Engineer, Customer Hardware (Starlink)

SpaceX is leveraging its expertise in rocket and spacecraft development to revolutionize global internet connectivity through Starlink, the world's most advanced broadband internet system. As an Electrical Test Development Engineer for Starlink, you'll be responsible for developing test solutions for customer-facing devices like Starlink dishes, WiFi routers, and other terminals. The role involves complete ownership of test solution development for characterizing reliability and performance of millions of devices shipped directly to end users.

You'll work on designing, implementing, and verifying development, production, and reliability test solutions. The position requires regular interaction with senior leadership to influence product operations while collaborating across electrical, silicon, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams. Your work will impact customers ranging from teachers in remote Amazon regions to researchers in Antarctica, digital nomads, emergency responders, commercial airlines, and rural residents.

The role combines hardware development, software automation, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll be selecting or designing test hardware, writing Python automation software, and working closely with various engineering teams to improve product reliability and yield. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to SpaceX's mission of making humanity multi-planetary while delivering essential internet connectivity worldwide.

The ideal candidate should have strong electronics testing experience, programming skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field, with experience in hardware development and programming. Knowledge of test equipment, circuit analysis, and electronics reliability is essential for success in this role.
