SpaceX is seeking an RF Engineer to join their Starshield team, focusing on advanced satellite communications and remote sensing systems for national security applications. This role combines SpaceX's innovative space technology with critical defense capabilities.

The position involves designing and developing RF systems for proliferated communications and remote sensing in low earth orbit. You'll be working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where rapid iteration and problem-solving are essential. The role requires expertise in RF engineering, electromagnetic simulation, and hardware development.

As an RF Engineer, you'll be responsible for driving system-level decisions, researching novel solutions for large-scale satellite RF systems, and working closely with cross-functional teams including hardware, FPGA, DSP, and software engineers. The role encompasses the full lifecycle of RF hardware development, from initial design through testing and operational support.

The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, with 1+ years of RF engineering experience. Experience with industry-standard tools like HFSS, CST, ADS, and programming languages is required. A master's degree in electrical engineering with RF focus is preferred.

This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $120,000 to $170,000 per year, with additional benefits including comprehensive healthcare, stock options, 401(k), and paid leave. The role requires ability to obtain Top Secret SCI clearance and is subject to ITAR restrictions. Responsibilities For RF Engineer (Starshield)

  • Drive program-level decisions on RF system designs

Requirements For RF Engineer (Starshield)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, or electrical engineering
  • 1+ years of experience RF engineering
  • Experience with modeling/analysis tools/software such as HFSS, CST, ADS, MATLAB, C/C++, and/or Python
  • Experience with RF test equipment such as VNA, spectrum analyzer
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret SCI clearance
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for required authorizations
