SpaceX, the pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer to join their facilities infrastructure team at Kennedy Space Center / Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This role combines hands-on engineering with the exciting mission of enabling human space exploration and eventual life on Mars. The position involves working with cutting-edge technology in rocket launch facilities, designing and improving mechanical, electrical, and control systems that are crucial for successful launches.

Responsibilities For Sr. Automation & Controls Engineer (Facilities Infrastructure)

  • Design, operate, install, and test low-voltage automation and control systems
  • Operate ground support control and instrumentation systems
  • Build and maintain data acquisition system and building automation system hardware
  • Control and maintain network infrastructure interfaces
  • Build and design control panels and electrical schematics
  • Maintain systems through preventative maintenance
  • Write procedures for routine and troubleshooting tasks
  • Provide innovative solutions to special requirements and challenges
  • Perform basic electrical installation of various components

Requirements For Sr. Automation & Controls Engineer (Facilities Infrastructure)

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of professional experience with instrumentation systems design
  • 5+ years of professional experience with low-power systems
  • Must be willing to work weekends and night shifts as needed
  • Must be willing to travel up to 15%
  • Ability to pass Air Force background check
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for required authorizations
