Description For Sr. GNC Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX is seeking a Senior GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) Engineer to join their Starlink team in Redmond, WA. This role combines spacecraft systems engineering with software development, focusing on creating autopilot algorithms for the world's largest satellite constellation.

The position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge space technology at one of the most innovative companies in the aerospace industry. As a Sr. GNC Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing critical control systems that manage thousands of satellites and millions of user terminals, directly contributing to SpaceX's mission of providing global high-speed internet access.

The role requires expertise in orbital mechanics, control theory, state estimation, and software development. You'll be working on various aspects of the Starlink system, including constellation design, fleet management, collision avoidance, and satellite attitude control. The position involves writing production-grade code in C++ or Python, not just prototypes.

This is an ideal opportunity for experienced engineers who are passionate about space technology and want to make a significant impact on global internet infrastructure. The role offers competitive compensation ($160,000-$220,000) plus equity, comprehensive benefits, and the chance to work on revolutionary space technology.

The position requires 5+ years of GNC experience and strong software development skills. You'll be joining a fast-paced, autonomous environment where you'll have the opportunity to solve complex problems and advance the commercial space industry. The role requires ITAR compliance and willingness to work extended hours when needed.

If you're excited about developing the technologies that will enable humanity's future in space while providing internet access to underserved areas of the world, this role offers the perfect combination of challenging technical work and meaningful impact.
