SpaceX is seeking a Senior GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) Engineer to join their Starlink team in Redmond, WA. This role combines software engineering with aerospace expertise, focusing on developing autopilot algorithms for the world's largest satellite constellation. The position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge space technology while contributing to SpaceX's mission of enabling global internet access and advancing space exploration.

The role involves working with orbital mechanics, control theory, state estimation, and spacecraft systems design. You'll be responsible for developing critical GNC algorithms using C++ or Python, participating in system architecture decisions, and analyzing constellation-level performance data. Key areas of focus include constellation design, fleet management, collision avoidance, and satellite control systems.

This is an ideal position for someone with both strong software development skills and aerospace engineering background. The role offers competitive compensation ($160,000-$220,000) plus equity and comprehensive benefits. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment where your work directly impacts the performance of thousands of satellites and millions of user terminals.

The position requires at least 5 years of GNC experience and strong programming skills. Advanced degrees are preferred, and candidates should have experience with spacecraft systems, orbital mechanics, and state estimation. The role demands excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to work autonomously on complex challenges.

As part of SpaceX's mission to make humanity multi-planetary, this role offers the unique opportunity to work on technology that's revolutionizing both global internet access and space exploration. The position includes on-call responsibilities and requires flexibility with working hours to ensure continuous network operations.
