The position sits within the Starlink program, which has already become the world's largest satellite constellation, providing fast, reliable internet to over 4 million users worldwide. In a significant move toward vertical integration, SpaceX is bringing integrated circuit packaging and assembly in-house for both development and manufacturing.
As a Sr. IC Packaging Test Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing and implementing test solutions for semiconductor packaging and wafer testing. You'll work directly with test equipment manufacturers and collaborate closely with in-house chip and system designers to create and deploy production test solutions. This role offers full ownership of packaged component and wafer testing processes, with the ultimate goal of making Starlink more accessible and affordable.
The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of programming experience in languages like C++, Python, and Visual, along with a strong background in electrical engineering or related fields. Preferred candidates will have 7+ years of microelectronics packaging development experience and expertise in RF test knowledge, digital high-speed testing, and semiconductor functional testing.
