SpaceX is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to join their Starlink Network Engineering team, focusing on building and securing a global-scale satellite internet constellation. Responsibilities For Sr. Network Security Engineer (Starlink)
- Develop and implement network security tools
- Produce Threat Models and assess Risk around existing configurations
- Provide subject matter expertise on network security, firewalls and industry best practices
- Manage network security configurations within the Starlink network
- Analyze and proactively come up with creative network solutions
- Document and formalize security processes
- Manage and maintain network security systems
- Work with other Starlink teams to develop secure architectures
Requirements For Sr. Network Security Engineer (Starlink)
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, information security, computer science, engineering or similar technical field and 4+ years of network security experience; or 6+ years of experience without degree
- Experience securing networks, IT infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and/or APIs
- Experience hardening Windows, MacOS, and/or Linux operating systems
- Python programming and automation ability
- Familiarity with networking protocols and OSI Model
- Strong self-starting and time-management skills
- Must be willing to do some travel domestically and globally
- Must be available for on-call rotations
