Description For Sr. Wireless Integration & Test Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX, a pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Senior Wireless Integration & Test Engineer for their revolutionary Starlink project. This role is crucial in developing the world's most advanced broadband internet system, which currently serves over 5M+ users worldwide. As a senior engineer, you'll be at the forefront of integrating, testing, and optimizing a complex satellite broadband network, focusing on PHY-layer and MAC-layer software.

The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in satellite communications, where you'll own test infrastructure and debug integrated wireless software to ensure optimal orbital performance. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the design cycle, implement Python-based test automation, and help bring up new production hardware.

Responsibilities For Sr. Wireless Integration & Test Engineer (Starlink)

  • Lead test and integration infrastructure development for Starlink wireless software
  • Work directly with software development teams to identify key test capabilities, implement test automation, and debug issues
  • Build out and maintain lab test infrastructure and hardware under test
  • Perform wireless/RF design verification testing and performance qualification
  • Conduct software feature validation, regression, and release testing

Requirements For Sr. Wireless Integration & Test Engineer (Starlink)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline and 5+ years of professional engineering experience; OR 7+ years of professional engineering experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience working with test automation
  • Software development experience with Python
  • Strong knowledge of wireless communications, signal processing and/or network protocols
  • Experience with lab equipment such as RF spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope
  • Experience in physical and/or MAC layers in broadband access technologies
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
