Join Spotify's Rocksolid squad as a Backend Engineer, where you'll be instrumental in developing and maintaining the core infrastructure of their Customer Service Platform (CSP). This role offers a unique opportunity to impact customer support operations at a global scale, working with systems that serve millions of users worldwide.

As a Backend Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and developing critical backend services that power customer support experiences across multiple channels including web and email. You'll work on essential components like compliance logging, account management, customer support data pipelines, and operational automation. The role involves building and enhancing the Conversation SDK, which handles approximately 65% of customer support interactions.

Working in an agile environment, you'll collaborate closely with product managers, engineering leaders, and cross-functional teams to drive technical innovation. The position requires expertise in Java programming, experience with RESTful and gRPC APIs, and proficiency in database management. You'll be part of a team that values high-quality, maintainable code and system reliability.

This hybrid role is based in London, offering flexibility with a requirement of three office days per week. Responsibilities For Backend Engineer - Customer Service Platform

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services that support customer service operations

  • Implement and optimize APIs that provide customer support data to internal stakeholders

Requirements For Backend Engineer - Customer Service Platform

Java
  • 2+ years of experience in backend development
  • Proficiency in Java programming language
  • Experience with designing and developing RESTful and gRPC APIs
  • Hands-on experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling
  • Familiarity with Google cloud platform
  • Strong problem-solving skills
