Description For Data Engineer

Tacto, an AI-driven procurement platform backed by prestigious investors including Sequoia Capital and Index Ventures, is seeking a pioneering Data Engineer to shape their data function from the ground up. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with one of the most extensive procurement datasets globally, covering 600,000+ suppliers and millions of articles. The position combines building fundamental data infrastructure with implementing cutting-edge AI technologies.

The role involves creating a scalable data warehouse, implementing self-service analytics, and developing AI-powered tools that make data insights accessible across the organization. You'll be working in Munich with a team of builders and industry experts, contributing to a mission that strengthens Europe's industrial Mittelstand by optimizing their largest cost driver - procurement.

As the first Data Analyst at Tacto, you'll have the opportunity to shape how the company leverages data as a strategic asset. The position requires 3+ years of experience, strong SQL and Python skills, and experience with data warehouses like Snowflake. You'll be working in a hybrid environment (minimum 3 days in office) with competitive compensation including equity.

The impact of this role extends beyond technology - it's about protecting the foundation of Europe's economy, as the industrial Mittelstand drives 25% of Germany's GDP and provides over 30% of jobs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to combine technical expertise with meaningful business impact in a well-funded, fast-growing startup environment.
