Senior Software Engineer (Gen AI Focused)

TaxGPT is revolutionizing the tax and accounting space with AI-driven solutions tailored for accountants, tax professionals, and SMBs. We're building an AI co-pilot to transform tax workflows, drive efficiency, and simplify compliance.

As a Senior Software Engineer focused on Gen AI, you'll be working closely with the CEO and CTO in person at our 4,000+ sqft office in SoMa, San Francisco. This role combines cutting-edge AI technology with practical business applications in the tax and accounting domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end system design including frontend (NextJS), backend (Django), and API integration
• Architect and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs, creating scalable microservices
• Manage database administration, security, and compliance
• Collaborate with leadership and UX designers on technical specifications
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews
• Drive R&D efforts in AI/ML implementation
• Work in an agile environment with shifting priorities

The ideal candidate should be:

• A self-starter comfortable with ambiguity
• Excellent at communication and problem-solving
• Experienced in building scalable applications
• Knowledgeable about AI/LLM technologies
• Familiar with fintech or tax software (preferred)
• Hold a Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent
