Description For Staff DevOps Engineer

As a Staff DevOps Engineer at TealBook Inc., you'll play a crucial role in architecting cloud infrastructure, optimizing deployment pipelines, and contributing to overall technical strategy. You'll lead (without direct management responsibilities) a junior DevOps engineer, mentor team members, and collaborate closely with development teams to ensure smooth, efficient, and scalable operations for GenAI applications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading technical discussions and implementing DevOps best practices
  • Architecting and maintaining cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers
  • Collaborating with development teams to optimize application performance
  • Managing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
  • Contributing to backend development projects using Python
  • Evaluating and introducing new technologies to improve DevOps practices
  • Working with Product Managers on software development projects

Responsibilities For Staff DevOps Engineer

  • Lead and implement technical discussions and DevOps best practices
  • Architect, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Own monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using ELK stack, Grafana, InfluxDB, and Telegraf
  • Contribute to backend development projects using Python
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies to improve DevOps practices
  • Identify and mitigate risks in software project delivery
  • Work with Product Managers on software development projects
  • Establish project goals and timelines with stakeholders

Requirements For Staff DevOps Engineer

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or similar roles
  • Expert in Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Terraform, GitHub Actions and CI/CD standards
  • Deep understanding of containerization technologies, highly-distributed backend systems and microservice architecture
  • Experience in backend engineering and strong programming skills
  • Familiarity with data stores: Mongo, Postgres, Redis
  • Proficiency with ELK stack and Grafana
  • Ability to act independently, proactively, and in ambiguity to anticipate & solve problems
