Description For Integration and Test Engineer - NEW GRAD

Telesat, a leading global satellite operator listed on NASDAQ and TSX, is seeking a NEW GRAD Integration and Test Engineer to join their innovative team. The role focuses on working with software applications that control their next-generation Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. As part of Telesat's revolutionary Lightspeed network project, scheduled for 2027 launch, you'll be at the forefront of transforming global broadband connectivity.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge satellite technology and network systems. You'll be responsible for testing and ensuring the quality of satellite control applications, working with various technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and multiple database systems. Responsibilities For Integration and Test Engineer - NEW GRAD

  • Gain deep understanding of applications used to control the Telesat LEO constellation
  • Develop, review, and execute test cases, with results stored in Zephyr
  • Characterize product defects and report in Jira
  • Work with development teams to seek solutions to bugs
  • Ensure product under test meets technical, functional, performance and business requirements

Requirements For Integration and Test Engineer - NEW GRAD

  • 4-year B.Sc. in Computer Science or Bachelor's in Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with routers and switches
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes (POD) and Containers (Docker)
  • Understanding of Network Protocols
  • Experience with traffic generators (Spirent/IXia, Test Center, tcpdump and iPerf)
  • Knowledge of Postgres, MySQL databases
  • Strong understanding of OSI-Layer, TCP, UDP, IP networking, routing protocols
  • Experience with JSON, JSON IETF, XML, YAML, PROTO, and REST APIs
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities
  • Must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
