Description For Product Support Engineer - Audio - TiMax

TiMax, part of the Focusrite Group, is seeking a Product Support Engineer for their Audio division. This full-time, permanent position is based in London, N7, with a transition to a new London HQ planned for early 2025. The role involves leading technical support for TiMax, including system design, customer training, on-site support, and product demonstrations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing operationally optimum spatial audio systems
  • Providing applications advice and first-line support
  • Conducting product demonstrations and customer training
  • On-site support and commissioning of TiMax spatial systems
  • Liaising with audio consultants and identifying sales opportunities

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Knowledge and experience of spatial audio solutions, including TiMax
  • Experience in sound system design for installation and live sound
  • Detailed knowledge of sound system acoustics
  • Experience with measurement systems (MLSSA, SMAART, Systune, etc.)
  • Familiarity with modern DSP and amplifier platforms

A degree in Acoustics, Audio, or Audio Engineering is preferred but not essential for experienced candidates. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities For Product Support Engineer - Audio - TiMax

  • Design operationally optimum spatial audio systems to meet client needs
  • Present system designs to sales and/or customers
  • Provide information for inclusion in tender documents
  • Applications advice and first line of support
  • Product demonstrations and customer training/education
  • Identifying and reporting sales opportunities
  • Support / liaising with visitors during exhibitions and other marketing events
  • Report on product performance strengths and weaknesses
  • On-site support of TiMax spatial systems
  • On-site commissioning of projects
  • Liaising with and advising audio consultants
  • Organising and presenting training (internally and externally)

Requirements For Product Support Engineer - Audio - TiMax

  • Knowledge and experience of spatial audio solutions including TiMax
  • Experience in sound system design for installation and live sound
  • Detailed knowledge of sound system acoustics
  • Experience with measurement systems MLSSA, SMAART, Systune, etc
  • Experience with modern DSP and amplifier platforms
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products
