Description For Cloud Engineer

As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you'll be part of a team responsible for running, maintaining, and evolving the core infrastructure platform that supports Tide's global businesses. Your role will involve proactively finding and fixing problems with non-production and production platforms, performing maintenance, and working closely with engineering and information security teams.

Key responsibilities include writing Terraform for infrastructure-as-code, implementing best practices, supporting major upgrades, creating operational documentation, and resolving security issues. The ideal candidate should have over five years of DevOps experience, strong AWS proficiency, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and Python.

Responsibilities For Cloud Engineer

  • Work as part of a larger Cloud Engineering team
  • Write Terraform to ensure new platform components are controlled by IaC
  • Define and implement best practices with other Cloud Engineers
  • Provide software engineers with access to platform data
  • Support major upgrades to running infrastructure
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates
  • Create operational run books and how-tos
  • Resolve issues raised by the Information Security team

Requirements For Cloud Engineer

Kubernetes
Python
  • Over five years of experience in a DevOps Engineering type role
  • At least three years of AWS experience
  • Experience with cloud hosted relational databases (PostgreSQL and MySQL)
  • Understanding of cloud native architectures and core components
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and Python
  • Understanding of the GitOps pattern and related technologies (ideally ArgoCD)
  • Enjoy working directly with engineers
  • Happy to work in a highly regulated and security-conscious industry
