Description For Platform Engineer

TravelPerk, a rapidly growing SaaS business travel platform valued at $2.7 billion, is seeking a Platform Engineer to join their team in London. This role is crucial in designing, developing, and maintaining the company's production and development infrastructure. As a Platform Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing deployment pipelines, ensuring infrastructure security, and supporting product squads with technical expertise.

The position offers a hybrid work environment requiring 3 days per week in the office, emphasizing the company's commitment to in-person collaboration. You'll be working with a diverse team of over 1,400 people across Europe and North America, contributing to a platform that serves global brands like Wise, Red Bull, and Aesop.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in software engineering with a focus on infrastructure systems, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCloud), and containerization technologies. Your expertise in scripting (Python, Ansible, Bash) and automation will be essential in maintaining and improving the platform's infrastructure.

Responsibilities For Platform Engineer

  • Manage the current platform infrastructure
  • Manage the current code deployment pipelines
  • Ensure the safety and security of all infrastructure and data
  • Maintain all the cloud tools used on the production infrastructure
  • Support product squads with infrastructure knowledge
  • Recommend ways to improve the current setup

Requirements For Platform Engineer

  • Experience as a Software Engineer working with large-scale infrastructure systems
  • Knowledge of cloud virtualization platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Excellent scripting and automation skills
  • Knowledge of scripting (Python, Ansible, Bash, Linux)
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with CircleCI, Codeship, Fastlane, BitRise or similar technologies
