Staff Software Engineer - Autonomous Mobility & Delivery Experience

The AM&D (Autonomous Mobility & Delivery) team at Uber is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the backend engineering efforts for the Experience charter. This role involves developing a strategic roadmap to elevate Uber's experiences across the board, enabling broader and faster Autonomous Vehicle adoption on Uber's platform. The successful candidate will lead end-to-end execution of multiple experience projects concurrently across multiple lines of business, ship new products and paradigms, and develop tech that future-proofs Uber's experience stack for Autonomous Vehicle use cases.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing a strategic roadmap for Autonomous Vehicle adoption
• Leading execution of multiple experience projects across various business lines
• Shipping new products to strengthen Uber's position as the Autonomous Vehicle rideshare provider of choice
• Developing future-proof tech for Autonomous Vehicle use cases

The ideal candidate will have:

• 8+ years of software development experience
• Extensive experience with fast-paced, metrics-driven product iterations
• Experience in developing large-scale distributed systems and scalable backend services
• Background in transportation and/or autonomous vehicle industry
• Experience building modular and scalable solutions for various clients and use cases
• Experience with product engineering applications of Operations Research and Machine Learning
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
