Backend Senior Software Engineer, Identity

Vanta is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer for their Identity team to help secure the internet and protect consumer data. This role is crucial in building and maintaining the foundation of Vanta's security platform, focusing on authentication systems and authorization frameworks. The position requires 8+ years of backend development experience and deep knowledge of identity management, authentication protocols, and security practices.

The Identity team tackles complex challenges at the intersection of security, scalability, and user experience, particularly as Vanta expands into enterprise markets. You'll be responsible for designing composable systems for user data modeling, implementing policy-based authorization, and establishing clean interface contracts for identity services. Your work will be fundamental to earning trust with enterprise customers where robust identity management is essential.

As a senior engineer, you'll lead complex projects, mentor team members, and drive technical initiatives that scale across the organization. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, requiring both strategic thinking and practical implementation skills.
