Vistar Media, the global leader in digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Traditional OOH department. This role focuses on scaling Adstruc, a recently acquired platform for traditional OOH planning and buying software, with plans for integration into Vistar's infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years of software development experience and strong expertise in backend architecture, including service-oriented architecture, APIs, and database management. You'll be working with technologies like PostgreSQL, AWS, PHP, Python, and TypeScript, while taking a technical leadership role in features and small teams.
The role combines technical challenges with leadership opportunities, allowing you to mentor others and work directly with the product team on strategic initiatives. Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer, Backend
- Take technical leadership role on features and small teams
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and infrastructure
- Develop maintainable, effective, and efficient solutions
- Maintain high productivity while contributing to ADstruc/Vistar platform code base
- Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship through pair programming
- Work directly with Product team on project planning and discovery
- Write well-designed, well-tested code
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
Requirements For Senior Software Engineer, Backend
- 5-10+ years of relevant work experience in software development
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (engineering, computer science, etc.)
- Proven ability to architect scalable and maintainable backend solutions
- Strong knowledge of backend architecture, including service-oriented architecture, APIs, testing, ORMs, relational databases
- DevOps, Containerization, and Infrastructure as Code experience
- Experience processing large amounts of data and developing large-scale solutions
- Experience in PostgreSQL, AWS, PHP (Symfony framework), Python, or TypeScript (at least two)
