Description For Full-Stack Software Engineer (2+ years experience: International-Americas)

Wanderlog helps make leisure travel easier by building tools that lower the bar to travel experiences. As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you'll join a team of 8 (including 7 engineers) working on their top-ranked trip planning app and related travel services.

The role involves building new features for both web and mobile platforms using Javascript (Typescript), React, React Native, and Node.js/Express. You'll own portions of the product, designing and implementing features based on traveler needs and growth opportunities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing user-friendly hotel booking interfaces
  • Creating AI-powered tools for content analysis and summarization
  • Optimizing the React Native mobile app performance
  • Building Chrome extensions for travel comparison
  • Implementing collaboration and social features
  • Managing data pipelines for web crawling and processing

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of full-stack product development experience, strong Javascript/React skills, and a product-minded approach. You should be comfortable with various technologies (Redis, Elasticsearch, Python) and excited about joining a small, high-growth team.

The company culture emphasizes:

  • Engineering and product excellence
  • User-first mentality
  • End-to-end product ownership
  • Work-life balance with regular travel opportunities
  • Collaborative environment with twice-annual team offsites

Founded by twin brothers with experience from Stripe, McKinsey, and Google, Wanderlog has grown to serve millions of travelers monthly. The company is self-sustaining and values both technical excellence and a passion for travel.

The hiring process includes:

  1. Asynchronous programming challenge
  2. Coding interview with preferred language
  3. Second coding interview
  4. Full-day virtual onsite

This is a full-time role reporting to the cofounders, offering an opportunity to shape the future of travel planning while working with a talented, travel-enthusiastic team.
