The role involves building new features across web and mobile platforms using Javascript (Typescript), React, React Native, and Node.js/Express. You'll own portions of the product, designing and implementing features based on traveler needs and growth opportunities. Key responsibilities include developing data pipelines, writing tests, managing infrastructure, and reviewing code while maintaining a fast, nimble development approach.

Projects you might work on include:

  • Creating user-friendly hotel booking interfaces
  • Developing AI-powered tools for content summarization
  • Optimizing the React Native mobile app performance
  • Building Chrome extensions for travel comparison
  • Improving collaboration and social features
  • Enhancing user profiles and travel tracking

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of full-stack product development experience, strong Javascript/React skills, and product-minded approach. You should be comfortable with various technologies (Redis, Elasticsearch, Python) and excited about joining a small, high-growth team.

The company culture emphasizes:

  • Engineering and product-driven decision making
  • Direct user interaction and feedback
  • Work-life balance with regular team travel
  • Values of putting travelers first and treating teammates with respect
  • Fast, smart development practices

Founded by twin brothers with experience from Stripe, McKinsey, and Google, Wanderlog has grown to serve millions of travelers monthly. The team is self-sustaining and passionate about making travel experiences more accessible to everyone.
