Description For Day Engineer

The day-based multiskilled engineer will play a key role in ensuring equipment at the Burton Latimer and Corby sites is well-maintained and continually improved through proactive maintenance activities. The role involves carrying out planned maintenance, managing shutdown activities, following company practices for health & safety and food safety, supervising external contractors, reporting equipment issues, enhancing asset reliability, participating in improvement projects, utilizing CMMS, and providing training for basic engineering tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting planned maintenance and managing shutdown activities
  • Adhering to company practices for safety and compliance
  • Supervising external contractors
  • Reporting and escalating equipment issues
  • Identifying opportunities for asset reliability enhancement
  • Participating in improvement projects
  • Effectively using CMMS for work logging and review
  • Providing training for basic engineering tasks

Requirements:

  • Recognized Engineering Qualification or apprenticeship
  • Good time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Demonstrable mechanical and electrical competence
  • Excellent IT skills, including CMMS use
