Weetabix is seeking a day-based multiskilled engineer to join their team at the Burton Latimer and Corby sites. The primary focus of this role is to carry out proactive maintenance activities to ensure the continuous improvement and upkeep of equipment assets. Occasionally, you might be called upon to deliver exceptional support for reactive engineering challenges within the plant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned maintenance and shutdown activities on plant across sites
- Working to company practices, procedures, and rules to ensure health & safety, food safety, and legal compliance
- Supervising external contractors providing additional support for PM activities
- Performing proactive maintenance tasks effectively and efficiently
- Reporting and escalating equipment issues identified during PM activities
- Identifying opportunities to improve reliability of assets and engineering working processes
- Supporting improvement projects and carrying out CI project work actions
- Effective use of the CMMS (computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Providing training and support for the transfer of basic engineering to operator tasks
The ideal candidate should have:
- Engineering Qualification or apprenticeship (HNC or above preferred)
- Demonstrable mechanical and electrical competence through training and experience
- Good IT skills, including use of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Good time management and ability to make timely decisions
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
