As a Staff Software Engineer in their Mountain View office, you'll be integral to the Avionics Battery Management System (BMS) Software team, working on cutting-edge embedded airborne software that meets FAA certification standards.

The role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of urban air mobility by developing software for the first fully autonomous all-electric aircraft. You'll be working with DO-178C standards and its supplements, creating requirements, designs, and code using both traditional methods and MathWorks products for model-generated code. The position requires strong expertise in embedded systems and safety-critical software development.

Responsibilities For Staff Software Engineer

  • Develop embedded airborne software per DO-178C and its supplements
  • Act as a Staff Software Engineer in the BMS Software team
  • Support problem solving activities through software development and integration
  • Work with Software Engineers from multiple Integrated Product Teams, Systems Engineers, suppliers, contractors
  • Plan and execute mentorship programs with junior Software Engineers
  • Create certifiable embedded airborne software

Requirements For Staff Software Engineer

Linux
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electronics, or relevant engineering discipline
  • 8 years experience with Bachelor's or 6 years with Master's or 3 years with PhD
  • Experience with DO-178C and its supplements
  • Hands-on experience with software requirements, design, code and integration
  • Strong knowledge of complex electronics for safety critical systems
  • 2+ years experience with MathWorks Model-Based Development tools
  • Strong understanding of RTOS concepts and concurrent software design
  • Strong communication skills and positive team player
  • 20% travel required
