Amazon Japan is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join their JP Retail Science team, focusing on developing data engineering infrastructure and solutions that scale across Amazon's largest vendors. This role combines technical expertise with business impact, working at the intersection of advanced analytics and e-commerce.

The position involves designing and building robust data pipelines, architectures, and platforms to support the delivery of advanced analytics and machine learning models for Amazon's eCommerce partners. As part of the JP Science and Data team, you'll collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product managers worldwide on projects involving causal inference, representation learning, anomaly detection, forecasting, and LLMs.

Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer, JP Retail Science

  • Define requirements and design for scalable deployment of solutions through paid services using AWS and CDK
  • Identify appropriate metrics and feature sets, build/maintain automated pipelines for extraction
  • Work with terabytes of data using Amazon systems and tools
  • Apply models developed by science team to vendor use cases
  • Contribute to and maintain internal team BI infrastructure and solutions
  • Prepare materials for vendor facing presentations

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, JP Retail Science

Python
  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
