Description For Software Development Engineer, SCOT WW Long Term Planning and Forecasting

Join Amazon's Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) team as a Software Development Engineer in the Inventory and Cube Forecasting division. This critical role involves building and maintaining systems that manage Amazon's global Fulfillment Center Capacity, determining what, when, where, and how much space is needed to meet Amazon's business goals. The team develops cutting-edge, in-house solutions for large-scale supply chain planning and optimization, working with millions of items across hundreds of product lines worldwide.

As a Software Development Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing sophisticated, intelligent, and self-learning models that continuously improve Amazon's supply chain efficiency. The role offers a unique opportunity to simultaneously advance the science of supply chain planning while tackling some of Amazon's most complex computational challenges. Unlike traditional approaches that rely on off-the-shelf solutions, you'll be responsible for studying, designing, and building custom systems tailored to Amazon's specific needs.

The position is ideal for motivated engineers who want to expand their technical expertise while making a significant impact on Amazon's customer experience. You'll work with latest technology frameworks and AWS, developing solutions across front-end interfaces, workflows, advanced mathematical models, and data platforms. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 based on location, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical coverage.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who want to combine software development expertise with business-critical supply chain operations, working on systems that directly influence Amazon's global logistics network.
