Currently supporting over 130 school districts nationwide, including major systems like New York City, Miami, and Denver, Edia focuses on enhancing math education, addressing chronic absenteeism, and streamlining MTSS processes.

As a Staff Engineer at Edia, you'll be at the forefront of technical leadership, architecting and implementing crucial systems that power educational transformation. The role demands expertise across the entire technical stack, from AWS infrastructure to React frontends, with a primary focus on building scalable, robust backend systems using Node.js.

Your responsibilities will encompass leading architectural design decisions, implementing distributed systems handling large volumes of educational data, and guiding technical strategy. You'll work closely with product and leadership teams to align technical solutions with business objectives, while also establishing engineering best practices as the team scales.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of backend development experience, with deep expertise in distributed systems, Node.js, and AWS cloud infrastructure. You should have a proven track record of building high-performance, reliable systems from the ground up and maintaining high-availability services. What sets successful candidates apart is their technical versatility, product-minded approach, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Joining Edia offers the unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on education while working with cutting-edge technology. You'll be part of a fast-growing company with Series A funding, ambitious plans, and a competitive compensation package. The position offers hybrid work flexibility in either San Francisco or New York, with a compelling compensation package including both salary and equity components.

If you're passionate about leveraging technology to transform education and ready to take on significant technical leadership responsibilities, Edia provides the perfect platform to make a lasting impact while advancing your career in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
